Colloquiums


Two dedicated workshops will provide conference participants with opportunities for in-depth engagement: one aimed at emerging scholars, and the other at industry practitioners. These sessions are designed to foster collaboration, knowledge exchange, and capacity building across academia and industry.

1. Industry & Practitioners Workshop

This workshop offers a platform for business leaders, sustainability professionals, and development practitioners to
share practical insights, innovative solutions, and lived experiences in support of Africa’s green transition.

Topics May Include:

  • Industry-led solutions for green industrialisation

  • Sustainable supply chains and local content policies

  • The role of public-private partnerships (PPPs) in environmental innovation

  • Business model innovation for green transitions

  • Corporate sustainability leadership in Africa

  • Indigenous knowledge and green industrial practices

  • Financing climate-resilient enterprises

Submission Guidelines:

  • Participants are invited to submit a 500-word practice brief that outlines:

  • The key challenge or issue addressed

  • The practical solution or intervention implemented

  • Evidence of impact or progress

  • Lessons learned and implications for policy or scale-up

2. Emerging Scholars Colloquium – 17th June

PhD students and early career researchers (within five years of completing their PhD) are encouraged to participate in this pre-conference colloquium on 17th June 2026. It provides a supportive space for presenting ongoing research, receiving constructive feedback, and developing academic and professional networks. This colloquium aligns with the broader conference theme: Green Transitions and Inclusive Industrialisation in Africa.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Applicants should submit a 2–4-page extended abstract that includes:

  • Research question and objectives

  • Methodological approach

  • Preliminary findings or core argument

  • Contribution to theory, policy, or practice

  • Research presentations with feedback from senior academics

  • Mentorship sessions on publishing, research strategies, and academic career development

  • Networking opportunities with journal editors and conference speakers

Keynote and plenary sessions will be delivered by distinguished individuals, including eminent professors from Anglia Ruskin University:
